You cannot take your e-scooter on public transport

From 7 October 2024, you cannot take your e-scooter on public transport. This is because the batteries are a fire risk.
The ban applies to all National Transport Authority (NTA) services, including:
- Dublin Bus
- Bus Éireann
- Go-Ahead Ireland
- Iarnród Éireann
- Luas
- TFI Local Link
The ban does not apply to e-bikes or mobility scooters.
